Help me with baby name regret!?

My son is a little over a month old now and I can’t get over this name thing. We named our first son Kase (not like Casey, like Case…the tractor or knife). My husband is a farmer and I found a tractor called a Sawyer Massey tractor in a book I was reading. I really liked the name and we put it on our list. When our son was born I told my husband I would like to go with Sawyer Gene as a name. When we announced it people were like…Oh like the guy from Lost?? Huh?? I’ve never seen Lost. So I get online and I notice how popular this show is and how popular this name is and I freak out. THEN I notice that it’s used as a GIRLS name too! I can’t stop obsessing about it. I don’t want my son to grow up with a million Sawyers and half of them female! What should I do?

Well my husband and i named our youngest son Hayden after my husbands grandfather and i never knew people were using it on girls, or that it was considered “trendy”….we just picked it because it had special meaning to our family…screw everyone else. Sure it annoys me that it’s popular for girls, and anytime i see someone asking about it for a girl, i’ll give my opinion with no problem…but i love my son’s name. it was chosen for a reason and i’m not going to let some trend dim the sparkle for me.

truly if you love the name then what the heck does it matter what other people that mean absolutely NOTHING to your family say about it? it’s DOESN’T.
