can anyone tell me how old this knife is or who made it?

it is a single bladed pocket knife,it has DEAL K CO USA on the blade like where the manufacturer would be,case,old timer,ect. it also has a yellow handle with a whale emblem on one side but not both sides.i just want to know how old it might be,or who might have manufactured it.my wife found it and pried it open then cleaned it up and it looks significantly old.any info would really help.

At a guess and without seeing it circa 1850. May well be older and is the whale etched into the handle. The handle is more than likely whale or walrus Ivory and if I were you I’d take it to a museum.
