In case of cooks and chefs to take greater responsibility to keep your KNIVES safely out of sight?
- Low key if necessary? Or maybe like me, you already do keep them safe. It tells us not to have them in drawers, in the case of the leaves get damaged or cut, but today more knives is stored in blocks or hung on a wall in the kitchen for easy access. This also provides easy access to the opportunists who want knives than using the kitchen intended. Except when in use mine to keep safely out of sight. This is partly because I hate anyone with my knives, and partly for safety and seems like common sense to me. I mean by opportunists out – for example, thieves, intruders, unwanted, uninvited people, or even some offices, – People who are not familiar and trusted friends.
I agree with you …. I put me in a kind of "toolbox" where I keep all my knives Personal etc ,…. My reasoning is especially so others do not use my stuff or steal them! I have no problem with letting someone use a vegetable peeler or knife or whatever, and always ask first! This is not always the way to work, however, is not it?! I'm also very clumsy … hahaha … nothing worse than losing a knife and hit her toe … hehe …. so just keep what I am using. I do not like the idea that anyone has access to my tools and knives ….. what if one of the dishwasher had a bad day and felt the need to remove a shit …. busperson My restaurant has an open kitchen …. someone could walk to pick up a knife to the left on the counter …. We are all in general, responsible for our team and if we are not using it is very rare to actually find anything of that nature left out for anyone to use or go with …. thankfully! I think the servers (where I work) are the worst out of a knife which were reduced after lemons or whatever …. it does suck! It just seems to go in one ear and out the other … hehe …. but I understand what you mean … and I agree!
