How does Next Gen Kabar KNIVES Kabar Compare to the original?

I have an original USN Kabar one of the friends of my father in the army me given. Iraq is the commemorative version, and is a very beautiful knife. I also gave a showcase for him, and I keep it there because I have multiple worksheets others prefer to use fixed the Kabar because I want it just like a knife show. I would get a Kabar take with me for camping, hiking, and I was looking for especially in the new generation of straight edge with the plastic. I was wondering how it compares with the original, I know that the original carbon is 1095 The new steel is 440A, but I was wondering, other than the type of steel, if you still have capacity for Kabar legacy or just must get an original.

No I have no experience with the next generation Ka-Bar, but they look as if they drive very similar to the old designs. The old style of Ka-Bar are also available kraton with nylon handles and covers, but keep the steel 1095, if that's what you prefer (it is probably what was going on). EDIT: David, would also have a pocket small knife, and / or a multifunctional tool, and yes, they are used for tasks … but when it comes to split firewood logs (Not all of us who like to carry the extra weight and create waste gas / fuel stoves fueled create, or we may have a bigger fire to maintain heat and dry clothes, etc.), collection of materials to build a shelter (again, a tent is not just the extra weight, but why go to these beautiful places and spend their time in 'cells' of nylon?) or butchering deer (if you are also hunting), then a larger, heavier knife (such as Ka-Bar) must also be part of your toolbox. "Backpacking" is not really the same as 'camping', and yes, for backpackers, tents, stoves, "instant" meals and smaller knives are all benefits.
