I was thinking a compact multi-tool, a small notepad and pencil stub, perhaps a bandage or plasters, a list of phone numbers and my blood type, a compass, maybe a little loose change, a wad of cotton wool and a camera film case full of red-tip matches. I’d keep it sealed with elastic bands.

Is this a good selection, can you think of anything else?

I’m going to be doing a bit of countryside walking and a spot of camping, but I’d mainly keep my kit in a jacket pocket for use around the house or when cycling to work etc.
