first time deer hunter?

have purchased a remington 700, i will be going with a good friend who has been hunting for a long time, he is vague on what to bring. Mostly day hunts, any suggestions on a good knife for cleaning the deer? also any suggestion on a scope for the remington 700, ive been told to spend $150 – 200 for a decent scope that will work fine without breaking the bank. I want to bring only what i might need
