Is there a specific legal length of a blade you can carry around?

In Illinois, I’m pretty sure KNIVES (pocket knives, switchblades) are legal, as in you can carry them around. But is there a legal MAXIMUM length for knives that you carry around?

Most states the maximum blade length of about 3.5 inches or less for Folding Knives. Switchblades are illegal in most states, illinois is one of them.

You would look this up in state laws pertaining to concealed carring of weapons.
