I was charged with assault when 5 guys jumped me and tried to kill me.?
I was walking to the store because I had wrecked my vehicle and I didn’t have it fixed yet. Five guys jumped me and I ended up having to use a pocket knife to get away because they were trying to kill me. I wounded one of them and ran, they had broken my jaw and nose and I had deep cuts to my face and was bleeding badly. I called the cops and told them exactly what happened and they arrested me and not the other 5 guys. My part was total self-defense.
It’s five months later and I’m fighting it in court. I was offered a plea bargain 4 months in Jail and 3 years probation and a record that will haunt me the rest of my days. If I don’t win the case I’m facing 12 years. What would you do? Take the plea or fight it all the way.
P.S. My lawyer says my case is strong but I’m still scared of the possible outcome.
