Traditional pocket KNIVES – Choosing the grandfather and still the best

The best way to describe a knife or a traditional folding knife is to think of the knife his grandfather used to wear. It was probably a small to moderate medium knife two or three blades that lifted peel apples, cut string, or any variety of odd jobs. For many men of that generation, which was all used for hunting, camping, work or anywhere there was a need of a knife.

Traditional knives are the knives that have been around for the last 100 years. They have certain characteristics in general, including manage traditional materials like wood or bone, a nail nick in the blade to make the opening of the blade easier, and remain open without a lock by source additional. It was intended to be carried in your pocket. If a knife has attended the opening, latches estate, or a pocket clip is probably not a traditional knife. Popular Traditional patterns include hunting knives, livestock, peanuts, sodbuster, Congress, heads of copper, canoeing, and Whittle.

Among the best companies manufacture of traditional knives pocket knives are the subject (or subject XX knives), Buck Knives, Queen Cutlery, Mooremaker, and GEC (Great Eastern covered.) Some decent, but cheaper and less quality knives traditional style are being manufactured by Rough Rider, a warrior of steel, and Remington.

The farmer, hunter, sodbuster and remains popular for hard use knives among workers, farmers and outdoorsmen. Recent knives are making progress, but old knives are still good for the same purposes that have always been used to, and always will be an excellent choice. Also, models such as peanuts, and head copper knives make great knives or general gentleman, for those who prefer to take a more socially acceptable but still effective, pocket knife.
