Starting a Business Bouncy Castle or any business … How easy is?
Making the leap into the world of business, whether online or offline is a situation more conventional daunting and frightening for most. The voices in our head with relentless questions precautions and I doing the right thing? What else? And believe me friends, family and coworkers provided are willing to give more reasons why you may want to reconsider their actions or intentions.
Well I'm here to tell you that there is nothing scary it. Of course, if you are stupid, and they have some kind of plan or at least do a little research. Here, success, and they say they will be lucky the trial.
I've taken the time to jump in my life. First, when I married. Then bring a child into the world. Let's face it marriage, parenting after have a mortgage are scary and bold enterprises. However, we survived. The next big step for me was emigrating to Canada in my early twenties with a wife and son feet. No job, no home, no friends coming, and only $ 3000.00 to call my own.
Did he have a plan? Of course my plan at this time was a) get a job before the money ran out. B) If either my wife or I really do not like that we agreed to go home, and under no circumstances could return home until 12 months passed, this was more than lie to everyone back home had said "Oh, yes you'll be back in three months." We lived in Canada for 32 years. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat!
What I'm trying to say is. Fear is in your head, and thou your friends and family to feed. Do not let that distract from your dreams.
Starting a business online or offline is one of the simplest things to do. How easy is it? Here are two real examples.
An example: In England, especially in 1960, most cities had markets outdoor premises. Local retailers use these markets as an additional point of sale of their goods. To sell lines to terminate at a reduced price or to sell products that were less than perfect.
People buy into the mass market, business was fast on any Saturday. The noise, the smells of food vendors, and produce stalls. Contributed to the atmosphere of the market.
My friend whom I'll call Bob worked as a laborer in the construction industry. Bob had not worked for a couple of weeks, and therefore was a little low on cash. Bob had been rattling for months how they would like to work weekends at the market selling porcelain and porcelain, etc. Apparently he knew where I could get imperfect cups, saucers, plates, jugs, and other China-type products at low prices.
Now we can talk about risk and risk levels very closely, but nothing that most of us are going to do about the risk that Bob took this weekend in particular. Here's how Bob's plan worked. He booked a place in the local market for next Saturday. Then lead to Stoke-on-Trent. Like many of you know Stoke-on-Trent is where most of the china and porcelain made. Names such as Royal Doulton, Wedgwood, Spode, etc. are there. Arriving at dawn Friday Bob was going to visit China many, and porcelain manufacturers to select their products. He would make his selection before 1:00 pm and then go to eat, instruct that products must be packed ready for him to return to pick up at 4:00 pm.
Time is a crucial component of the plan to Bob. You did not see Bob money, or at least not enough to pay for the products they bought. A finding that was about to write NSF would do if it hit the bank before he was able depositing on Monday morning. As it happens Bobs bank was closed over the weekend. When I said this after the fact surprised me. You see as most jurisdictions it was illegal to write a bad check is called fraud, and a person can go to jail for doing that. This was completely out of character for Bob.
Anyway the next day (Saturday) Bob sells each piece of pottery and porcelain that had, and he sold it long before the market closed at 5:00 pm was able plaza to pay their rent in cash, and on Monday morning was the first in line at the bank to deposit your money. On Tuesday, Bob returned to Stoke as it did for many years after the purchase of more than China. Bob became a great success by working only three or four days a week. As a footnote I know that parents Bobs were willing to step up with the money if things had gone pear-shaped opening weekend. It was still a visceral thing to do. Fortunately, you do not have to be brave.
Example two: John is Canadian. John had a full time job. He was looking for additional income, but was not sure how. The method or plan he came up very short and simplistic. He had little expense and little risk. Very satisfactory results.
Pretty well every city or community throughout the summer has a festival or fair in one way or another. Most festivals and fairs have a huge support. It is not uncommon for some festivals pack in thirty or forty thousand people in the course of a weekend. Most festivals are areas where craftsmen and artists sell their creations. In addition, there many food vendors usually selling hot dogs, potatoes, cotton candy, etc.
John knew that the food vendors did most companies in these events. Lets face it everyone likes to eat! John's problem was that he did not want a full time business of the season. He just wanted attend a few shows during the summer, and make some extra money. Buying a hot dog stand or other food retail unit was out of the question. His answer was simple and brilliant.
He joined a local festival for a long weekend. Saturday – Monday. On Friday went to his local supermarket and asked the product manager if you were to buy 100 or more watermelons what type of agreement would be to raise the price of each. The production manager gave John a cost of 0.30 cents per pound (at that time was a little less than retail) average watermelon was about 10 pounds. So John paid about $ 3.00 averaged for each melon.
Bright and early Saturday morning John, his wife and two teenage daughters to establish three feet six tables in a horseshoe with a 10 'tent. I had three pieces of a marble on each table. Three coolers with ice in them, 100 watermelons in bags, paper plates, napkins, and a knife giant. I found a machete.
Today at 8:30 am and it is 26 degrees Cel 77 degrees F. John has a melon in one of the refrigerators, and slices thereof. He makes 8 slices of each melon. He could get more, but because it is charging $ 1.00 for each sector you want to value. Festival visitors begin arriving in the field. A total of 35 minutes before going Juan sells his slice of melon in the first place (they say the first sale is the most difficult) then as more people come, and all the sideshows into action, and the music starts on the main stage. Juan finds his time is completely dedicated to cut melons.
Skip to 3:00 pm. suffice to say it is hotter than it was at 8:30 am. People line up in his tent, and fairly well every other shop is selling food or beverages. John has four melons left in his refrigerator and his wife took the jeep to buy more.
Come for the night party is over. John has passed for 600 melons (from different supermarkets at varying prices) John spending on average $ 3.25 for 600 times the watermelon so it cost of $ 1,950.00. Won eight of each melon slices, and sold for $ 1.00 per segment $ 8.00 per melon is 600 times the society paid $ 4,800.00 festival of $ 100.00 per day for the space. $ 100.00 for incidentals plate of paper towels, etc. After taking total spending your winnings are left with a $ 2,450.00 profit. Not bad for three days of work!
Now John also learned something this weekend. In addition to learning how simple it is to start a business that produces income. Bob also learned from one of the other vendors was very fortunate that the health inspector does not come around. Sale food requires a permit. In fact jurisdictions require a permit to engage in any trade. Do research in advance. The Internet has all the information you'll ever need, use it.
There are many other businesses that are easy to set, easy to participate in. To this article I will focus on what I know.
The inflatable amusement business is one of the easiest to start on a part time or full time. At this point it should be wondering what the hell you talking about? What is the inflatable amusement business? Well, I can assure you that flying is selling dolls.
You all have been in a festival or fair where there are giant inflatable, inflatable slides, etc. When children were seen jumping out jumping castles. She probably thinks you wish that was when I was a child. You are not alone. I thought so.
During his visit to England in 1993 I was looking for products prevailed in England, yet relatively unknown in North America. The idea was to import some to Canada, and sells to retail stores. I was talking this with my brother one night in a local bar. During the conversation I asked if there were bouncy castles in Canada. To which I replied, "What is a bouncy castle "that seemed to answer your question. After discussing this at great length he decided to take my wife and I to a stately home which was open to the public. The idea was to have a nice day, and at the same time to get to know first hand what a bouncy castle is.
The place was wonderful. There were acres of fields flowing, and the forest, and of course full of history. I remember thinking to myself, why would anyone want a house with so Many of the rooms?
We spent about two hours walking around taking it all in. But I was concentrating on what I was there. All approached the playground, where among other things. Ultimatum to the giant bouncy castle. towers characters painted on the windows, and medieval knights and maidens adorn the walls and four towers. I do not know about a child, but I was very impressed myself. I wanted six years inside again. This gorilla was about 25 'x 25' and the top of the towers was about 18 '. No matter which direction you approach you could not miss this thing. I say it was huge! I remember thinking. You need no signage for it. Being advertised.
I told the others to continue exploring the reasons and I meet them in two hours on a predetermined set point. When they left I found a bench to sit in the shade, and I began to see the operation of the inflatable castle. The girl who was operating the goalkeeper was only 17 years old. He wore shorts, a cap and an apron with small pockets that kept all his money in. She was very nice to the children, but firm application of the rules. She was obviously experienced, and it seemed very professional.
While I sat there I started taking visual notes. A fence closed the goalkeeper, and had an elaborate system near where the children waited in line for their turn to jump. I looked my watch as the next group of 18 children were in their turn to jump. Three minutes went by when a whistle signaling the end of the bounce for this group of children. This continued without stopping, while I was there, and always had kids in line waiting their turn.
The cost per child was bouncing ₤ 1.00 that was about $ 2.26 I did the math in my head with dollars rounded to $ 2.00 for simplicity. Eighteen children $ 2.00 each three times minutes. Taking into account the loading and unloading operator an average of 15 games for children eighteen hours. This young man was producing $ 540.00 per hour.
I sat there for two hours watching the loading and unloading This amazing piece of equipment. The area was full of laughter, children and parents, and the shrieks of lovely girls. Children and parents happy! What a work environment in my mind was made up to now.
I bought a small bouncy castle before leaving England, and came to Canada three days later I made. I wasted no time fixing a local mall to set free in their parking lot. I said mall manager would charge no children to bounce, because I was offering free space.
On Saturday, my son, and I inflated the gorilla bright colors (with flag show my phone number, and words of rent) in shopping mall parking lot adjacent to the road. That particular stretch of road has eighty thousand vehicles a day pass.
Within three minutes of set-up we had a line up of 12 children. As children bounced, I talked to parents, ensuring that each father left my brochure. The fact that children do not charge results in huge formations throughout the day. When I returned to home that evening there were no fewer than 10 calls on my answering machine, which became reservations. I had the return on my investment in less than three weeks. Within two months we bought a second gorilla, and as the saying goes the rest is history. Fourteen years later I'm still in the business, which has expanded my comfort level.
The only thing that prevents you from achieving your dreams is YOU! Enough, and stop listening to those around you giving you advice without reservation. Instead sit down and decide what you want. You can start an online business with just having a web site about what you're passionate about. If you're into butterflies build a web site about butterflies. Write articles about butterflies, educate visitors about butterflies.
Remember that people go to the Internet for one thing! INFORMATION! Ensure that your final goal can be to buy a camera or other item for a Christmas gift. But at first they want information. They want to know about the cameras or whatever, a subject they want. Want know the price, functions, features, warranties, and a million other things before buying.
Their website butterfly (if that is what you are in) provides valuable information. What attracts visitors. As your visitor traffic grows, and becomes its website, advertisers Popular want to advertise on your website. Now you're making money.
Set your goal / dream. Write, research, and establish plan / program, then implement it. Nothing complicated. Your Move!
