Can you carry a knife in public in the US?

Okay, so I live in New jersey and I’m 17, and I wasn’t sure whether or not it was illegal to carry a knife in public or not. I don’t mean a hunting knife or anything like that, i just mean something like a Swiss Army knife or a multi-tool sort of knife.

Yes you can, depending on how long the blade is. I’m not sure what the law in new jersey is, but in colorado you’re allowed to carry a knife when you’re under the age of 18 as long as the blade is no longer than your palm. So pretty much when you’re 18 you could go into a store waving a knife around and you wouldn’t get in trouble as long as it’s the legal length and not a concealed weapon (like a butterfly knife)
And nobody gives a $hit about lighters lol
