Since the majority of collectors cannot afford pure gold knives, many are a combination of different metals. Mixed knives combine the exquisiteness of a precious metal with the cost effectiveness of a cheaper substitute.

Flea markets and other shops are great places to find huge selections of knives. Buying one in person also allows you to inspect the knife for quality, and see first hand whether it is right for you. Those most interested in saving money can turn to the Internet, which always has cheaper prices than brick and mortar businesses.

Although you cannot physically handle knives from the catalog, a plethora of information is available on the website.
