How do I learn about an antique tool?
I bought an old tool at a junk shop and it appears to be a grease applicator of some sort. It is a small hatchet-shaped tool with a handle that screws off and on. There is a small hole in the head of the tool which connects to the shaft. I am guessing that grease was placed in the hollow shaft, the handle replaced and as the handle was screwed further down the shaft, grease was forced out the head. It is marked with TOMAHAWK MANUFACTURING CO. CLEVELAND, OH. Note sure about the date. I’m new to this site, can I post a picture of the tool?
Hmmm. I searched ebay and the internet for TOMAHAWK MANUFACTURING and could not find anything. If you have some web space where you can upload the picture and then put the link in your question so we can see the picture. That might help.
I’m not sure if this breaches YA’s rules but if it is legite I think it should be OK.
